We've been waiting for insurance to approve of the Arthgram (MRI) that Dary will undergo to address his hip pain. In the meantime, we've been pounding out the miles. Last Sunday we skipped our "light" day for an 11 miler, anticipating taking a couple of weeks off for the procedure. But now it won't be until Sept 9, so I'm wondering if we should do 12 this Sunday so by the time Dary recovers, we'll be "on track." Trouble is, the last two runs have been killers, and we really needed an easy week last week and we didn't give it to ourselves, so now I feel so beat up.
We also started interval training once a week on the treadmill. Talk about revving up my metabolism, but I can feel my legs really hurting from them.
And work has been stressful which is ridiculous because I don't have a stressful job (just a stressful environment). So I haven't been getting any sleep.
Oh, and I've been sick all week but because I'm missing 2 1/2 days to take Dary to his procedure, I felt bad about calling out sick so that hasn't helped either.
I can't wait until running is just running again (when Dary is pain free). When running becomes my great escape.
And I think I'm gonna stop being some kind of a crazy martyr at work, never taking sick time (to the point of making my sick kids go to school so I can "look good" to my supervisors...whatever). If' I'm sick, I'm getting some rest. If my boys are sick, and taking care of them. And I'm going to take care of me so I can run that crazy race in January!
